Hi, my name is Alfie and I need someone special to love!  My previous parents got divorced, then they dropped me off at this place and never came back for me. I wonder what happened to them?

I tend to be cautious when meeting new people. It's best if they just ignore me for a little bit until I decide that I want to get to know them. I'm pretty good in public, still cautious. I've had some recent outings walking around town and at several pet stores. Several people cautiously came up to me, let me sniff their hands and pet me. I was ok wth that. At home I'm more protective so someone coming to the home needs to give me some time to warm up.

I enjoy going for walks and pretty much know how to walk on a leash without pulling. I also enjoy going for car rides and like sitting in the passenger seat.

I get along with most other dogs and cats. I tend to bond to one main person in the household. When that happens, I am like velcro and love to stick around that person. I enjoy cudlling on the couch, although I will get off the couch if you want it back. Just say the word "off".

I have learned to go into my crate without having to be picked up however a little treat helps out. I would do best in a home with a firm owner who knows how to be the boss.

It would be best that I go to a quieter home where there are no kids unless they are older than 12. At my foster mommies home the kids are 16 and they leave me alone and I do just fine with that.  I have a foster brother and two foster sisters that i just ignore so I would be fine as the only dog.  I just follow my foster mommy or my new foster daddy around.
