Krystal came to us after living with one owner for her just over 11 years.  Her Mom joined the service and had to say goodbye.   Krystal grew up in a loving home and grew comfortable with what she could get away with.  In foster care she has responded to loving guidance and has learned good manners and how to get along with others.  She still demands a lot of cuddling attention, especially at night.  When she needs something she will whine rather than bark but she is easily satisfied once her needs are met.
She went through an extended period of time dealing with separation anxiety in foster care.  This may happen again once she is adopted.  Just be patient her loving sweet nature is there and will emerge after a few weeks.
For a dog of her age she is very active.  She will follow you from room to room, often will play with her ball, or pace sometimes when she wants to really take a stroll outside.  She loves being outside in all weather except for heavy rain.
She has learned a variety of commands with hand signals since  she is a bit hard of hearing.
She would love a household with elementary aged or older kids, or just adults.  She ignores cats and works out a good relationship with other dogs after 2 weeks time.  She likes it when people are home or around most of the day, even if it is an in and out schedule.  Her high demand time is evenings watching TV with you on the couch. Definately a compainion dog!  She can be trusted without caging or restrictions in the home.
Photos show her with her coat growing back in after a shave down was the best way to groom her in January 2014.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
