About Anook

  • Housetrained: Yes
The hearing loss wasn't a severe problem because Anook watched everything that was going on around her. She had deep black eyes that were filled with wisdom. She learned hand motions and facial expressions from her foster very quickly.

Anook also had some two fatty tumors between her rear legs (one on each). It must of felt like she was wearing a diaper. The tumors were removed, she had a dental cleaning, went to the groomers and came back looking absolutely radiant. After about 2 months, a young, female adopter fell in love with Anook's photos and biography and volunteered to drive all the way from Washington, D.C. to Shreveport to receive her.

The home visit and references were checked and the adoption was approved. The little Texas lady moved to Washington, D.C. where she is now called Annika, takes daily walks with her loving owner, and sits on a balcony overlooking the apple blossom trees in the Spring. It has been reported by the adopter to Shamu/Anook/Annika's foster that, "it was a perfect match. She is even more beautiful inside and out than her pictures or bio could ever show."

Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
