Hi There!! My name is Scooter and I am 5 years old.  I love my life and my surroundings......but my parents recently got a divorce and many things in my life have changed. Daddy moved away with the cats and though we are best friends, he does not have room for me in his apartment. Now I live with Mommy and my young human siblings.

Mommy used to walk me every day but now she works more and I'm home alone a lot.  Mommy built a dog walk for me to run around in, but now the neighbors are upset because I like to talk to my friends as they go by. I guess I talk too much!!

I would really like to find a new fur-ever home where I can bark if I want to! With all of the changes going on in my life, I am confused and not sure who I can trust. I love my belly rubbed, but it may take a while before I trust you do do that. Since I'm a boy, I really love the ladies, but I often warm up to men (especially nice men like my Daddy).

I do well with the little ones in the house but I don't like a lot of kids grabbing at me and trying to play dress up. I don't want ribbons in my fur! I'm a boy! I need an environment with less children, preferably older children who know how to be around a dog who isn't quite sure of himself. I really do like children, just not their fast movements, and please don't try to steal my bone! The kids think this is fun but I'm really concerned I won't get my bone back.

I do ok with my peers once I warm up, but it might take me a few minutes to decide whether my new friend is cool enough to hang out with me. I have a sister Sheltie in my current home who is my best friend. I like to bark at dogs I don't know. I like to bark at anyone I don't know, come to think of it!

If you want a loyal man I am the one for you. I'm really confused about what is going on in my life, so we will need to meet in a calm environment where you can spend some time getting to know me. I'm a sweet boy who needs a great home where I can flourish. Do you think I'm the right dog for you? If so, please contact Heather at eskierescuer@gmail.com for more information. Thank You!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
