Greek god (or Greek dog) grounded on earth as dog. Because he comes from the heavens, Zeus is house trained, walks well on a leash (He LOVES to walk amongst the “little people” as he likes to call it) and because he knows how humans work, he is very obedient (he knows basic commands...sit, stay, etc) and is treat motivated. Zeus is used to being pampered (all that grape peeling in his previous life as a deity) so he does sleep through the night on a bed...preferably yours. Because he wants you to think he is just a “dog”, he does like to play with a few toys and loves to be petted all over and lies spread-eagle on his back for belly-rubs. (you humans are so easy). Preferably in front of a toasty fireplace. He does well with dogs, cats and older children...not those little tiny humans who are a bit grabby. Because of his mortal status, Zeus has had a good vet visit. He is up to date on his shots and has had a full senior profile blood work done (all good except for testing positive for Lyme. He is currently taking 30 days of doxycylcine to cure this). He has a heart murmur and allegedly had occasional seizures in the past. He had his teeth cleaned and they are wonderful! Because of those good ol’ mortal chompers, he is a bit protective of his food bowl. The former god must be muzzled when groomed as he doesn’t like to be combed or fussed with in that regard. Being fed grapes and fawned over is one thing, getting your hair combed is entirely different. He has never forgotten his past as a Greek god. He is insistent he get love and can’t seem to get close enough to you. (He hung out a The formal deity prefers to be around people and experiences some separation anxiety (likely from being alone in a house for 2-3 weeks). Will your home be a little slice of heaven for our little Greek god, er, dog?
