Hi everyone! My name is Zippo and I recently arrived in Virginia from New Jersey.  I lived in my old home for 5 years, where I was the first dog they ever had.  But soon one dog turned to many (seven!) and they just didn't have time for me any more.  So my mom decided to give me to ERU in the hopes that I could find a new home where I can get all the love I deserve.  I am a very sweet and loving boy who will happily cuddle with you on the couch or just sit at your feet.  I love to give kisses and show you my gratitude whenever I am pet or scratched behind my ears.  My foster mom says that I think everything is a toy, and I keep bringing her whatever I can find to see if she will play with it...socks, dryer sheets,  anything! Fortunately I am a good learner and have started to realize that bones and dog toys are TOYS and everything else isn't....now I'm anxious to play! I am also happy to just hang out, I'm a little lower energy than some other Eskie dogs.  I get along great with kids (even little ones) and other dogs. 

I just had my physical, and I have tested positive for Lyme.  But I am on antibiotics and everyone thinks I will be testing Lyme negative soon.  We won't know for sure for six months though.  Also, sometimes when I get too excited, I will have a small seizure.  It can be scary for my owner, and for me, but I am always okay after a few minutes.  ERU is working to get me on medication so that this won't happen anymore.

Please won't you give me a chance?
