Balto is a AKC registered Eskie who is about 5 years old and weighs about 30 lbs. He has the thickest white coat of any dog I have seen so far in this breed.
Balto always has a big smile on his face no matter what is going on around him. He is a laid back guy.

He appears to be in excellent health and was neutered a few weeks ago. Balto's owner was a 91 year old gentleman who did not feel that he was able to give Balto the kind of attention he needs. He wanted him to have a happy home where he could thrive and an owner who enjoys dog kisses every minute.

So after a long trip from Ohio he made it to his foster home where he has blended in extremely well with the pack. Almost nothing gets him upset. He has lived in the backyard most of his life although he had a very nice dog pen that was attached to the barn. Therefore he is not house trained but his foster Mom is going to work with him on that task. He helped his owner keep the Geese away from the porch and cars while in Ohio and when he got to his foster home that instinct came right back.

He notices everything and is extremely social without trying to be the alpha dog. He is sweet and overall is a darling boy.

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
