I need a furever home!! Hi, My name is Puckett, but I'm called Puck for short. I was named after Kirby Puckett, the famous baseball center fielder that played for the Minnesota Twins. I am a very affectionate but like a lot of Eskies, I just need a little time to get to know you. But I am one beautiful dog…don’t ya think?
I really need a furever home!! My first home was with a family that had 2 young children and I was very loved and well cared for but my Mom was diagnosed with ALS so at 18 months of age, I was adopted to another family.
Well, I’ve been loved here too but I was adopted out of pure emotion when my family got me while grieving the loss of the family pug. I wasn’t the type of dog they really needed or expected because I’m not like the pug personality, so I’m not fitting in as well as they had hoped. And now my new Mom is expecting a baby and they think I would be better off at a home without little infants since I’m so frisky and still play like a pup! I am fine with kids 12 years and older.
I am a typical Eskie meaning that I am very much a family member and protective of them. I get along with the kids and other dogs but I am the alpha. I often sleep in the hallway between the master bedroom and the children’s room! I love playing outside and I enjoy the snow. I had a doggie door so I can go out whenever I please and of course I have a fenced yard. In the winter, I like to lay on a “snow mattress” on the patio that was created just for me (you can see the picture of me laying on it!!).
Now…I really need a family that knows my breed. We call it “Eskie-savvy”. And since I have been the alpha, I need a person that can take that title away from me and be the alpha. I need leadership and some obedience training would be most helpful for me to be the best companion that I could ever be. I haven’t had much direction in my past and I want my next home to be my final home!! And a fenced yard would be fantastic! Can you provide that for me?
