Scooby was found as a stray in Wooster, Ohio. When he arrived at the shelter he was immediately scanned for a microchip and he did have a chip so his owners were immediately contacted. Unfortunately for Scooby, his owners told the shelter that they no longer wanted him. They had been with this beautiful dog for twelve years and now have decided that they were just done with him. Scooby was in need of some dental work, but other than that he was as healthy as could be. He spent over a month at the shelter because of his age and the needed dental work. Since no one stepped up to save him he was put on the urgent list at the shelter and was then put on the list to be euthanized. Many outside volunteers noticed Scooby and started combining efforts together to save him. Thanks to the great efforts of these many caring people, Scooby was given a second chance at life and his story will have a happy ending! . Scooby is a very happy dog who loves attention, lots of petting, and a good scratching! He has gotten along very well with all of the dogs and cats that he has met in his foster home. He has short bursts of energy and loves to play with other dogs that are the same size as him, but being an older dog, he tires out quickly. He may have a touch of arthritis as he cannot jump up on furniture and he needs assistance with getting on the couch or into a car. Scooby would love to spend his days with plenty of time to relax outside . He would probably do best in a house with low activity and another older dog of the same size to keep him company. He is not very active outdoors, but he loves to explore the back yard and he enjoys laying around in the grass long after the other dogs have come back inside. When he is inside, he spends most of his time resting or chewing on bones. He is a very low-key dog who is just looking to enjoy his golden years ! Scooby is a wonderful dog who deserves a furever home! If you are looking for a loving older dog, then Scooby is the one for you!
