Update:  Scout has been moved to a new foster home.  He will stay in ERU's care for the near future so we can monitor his neurological issues.  He may also require luxating patella surgery in the future.

Scout is an amazingly sweet eskie boy.  Scout came to us through the Montgomery County Humane Society (MCHS) in MD.  Scout's head bobbles (see video) and we have had a neurologist and other specialist examine him.  He has had the bobble since MCHS found him as a stray in November of 2013.  The bobble has not gotten any worse.  The docs are stumped as to what is causing the bobble.  Tick disease has been ruled out.  We may never know what is causing the bobble but Scout is one of the sweetest eskie boys I have ever fostered.  He is so good with strangers.  If you're willing to provide a safe and loving forever or foster home for Scout please let me know (Heidi@eskierescuers.org).

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
