About Shadow

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 06-168
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Shadow! I'm a 3- or 4-year old miniature-sized (or small standard-sized) American Eskimo female who stands approximately 14 inches tall and weighs a solid 24 pounds. Don't you think I'm just the cutest little doll? My foster mommy sure does!

I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm housebroken, crate-trained and leash-trained. I like to go for walks and am very curious of my surroundings.

I get along well with other dogs, but we don't know about cats, because we don't have any here in my foster home. I like everyone, including kids. I'm good with my foster mommy's young child and I love to give him kisses! (He gives me kisses too and he knows how to pet me in a sweet and gentle way.) I'm very affectionate and really like to be petted, and I'll let you know it with soft nudges and kisses--I guess I'm kind of pushy that way! :o)

I'm really sweet and full of life. My foster mommy says I'd be great at agility training. I definitely have that circus blood in me, since I have great balance and can jump really high (I can easily clear a 4-foot fence without a problem). I'm also a fast runner, so if you're into jogging, I may be just the dog for you!

I need a family who will have patience with me and shower me with lots of love and affection--will that be you? Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful new life? I am SO looking forward to meeting you and going home with you!

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Kim at: kim@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: ana@eskierescuersunited.org. Better yet, you can go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me!

There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Crestview, FL (on the panhandle) with my foster mommy, Ana.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you).

Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!
