Hi, my name is Pumbaa! I'm an EXTREMELY handsome 9-month old miniature-sized American Eskimo/mix male puppy who weighs 17 pounds. I had everyone fooled into thinking I was a pure bred Eskie until my foster mom noticed some very subtle differences that most people might not even catch. Anyway, that doesn't take away from how ADORABLE I am! :o) I'm neutered, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm also housebroken, and my foster mom is teaching me what I can and can't chew. I'm getting much better on a leash (I wear a harness). I'm learning my basic commands too; I've mastered "sit," and I'm getting pretty good at "stay" and "wait." No one had the patience to work with me in my previous life, but I'm exceptionally smart and sensitive, and I learn so fast! I'm good with the other dogs here at my foster home, though I tend to be a bit bossy. My foster mom says I haven't learned yet how to greet dogs properly outside my house, but we're working on my social skills. I just LOVE people! I don't have any preferences as long as they are loving, kind and patient. I can be a bit bullheaded at times-my foster mom says I'm going through adolescence, whatever that is! I like children but would prefer those old enough for school. That way they can run, play and cuddle with me. I would love a yard to run and play in-you know how much we puppies love to romp around! Most of all I LOVE lying next to you and giving you lots of hugs and kisses. I have a beautiful coat that is so shiny and lustrous you'll never want to stop petting me! I'm loving, playful and occasionally ornery. My dream is to find a family that will love me, play with me, teach me and NEVER let me go! Could that be you? I really hope so! If so, you should fill out an adoption application quickly, because young dogs like me get adopted very quickly. If I'm not local to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad." This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Bradenton, FL with my foster mommy, Mary. For more information on me, please contact Leah at: leah@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: mary@eskierescuersunited.org. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me! There is an adoption fee required to adopt me - but I'm worth it! Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out our fosters as outdoor dogs. Thank you and WOOF! Pumbaa!

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.
There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
