9/2/21 - Euthanized for medical, cancer. From adopter:
Just wanted to let you know that our rescue Eskie, previously known as Sheba, will going to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday with the help of Lap of Love. Jinx was diagnosed last week with massive tumors in her abdomen and around her heart and lungs. It is inoperable and even if it was cancerous and we did chemo, there is just too much. This all grew in less than 6 months. She is comfortable, but she just doesn't want to eat because her stomach is now compressed into her rib cage. She would be 15 on October 21st.
4/25/16 - ADOPTION PENDING
Sheba was an owner surrender, and the owner described her as "shy at first, but then she is a cuddle bug - just have to let her do it on her own time, no fast movements". She is a very friendly, energetic, and playful 9 year old, and she is in excellent health. Like most Eskies, she loves to be around her human and is already following the foster around the house.
She is very good natured and barks very little.
She is very good on a leash and is crate trained. She is afraid of fireworks, thunder and loud noises. The owner shaved Sheba, so she doesn't have that fluffy Eskie look right now, but her fur will grow back out in a few months. Even with short fur, she is a gorgeous girl, with the beautiful wide open, big black eyes of an Eskie girl.
She will make someone the luckiest best friend in the world.

Good with Dogs
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
